It’s popular because of its coastal location, charming Italian-inspired downtown, and arts-centered focus. 
 
Residents and visitors are drawn to Venice’s six beaches for their famous sunshine, light breezes, and magical sunsets. They're also famous for prehistoric Megalodon shark teeth that wash up in the surf, attracting people from all over the world. 
 
Top spots are Venice Fishing Pier and Sharky’s on the Pier, Venice Beach, Caspersen Beach, and South Brohard Beach and Paw Park—a dog-friendly (off leash) relaxation spot. Just north of Venice—Nokomis Beach and the adjoining 8-mile drive along Casey Key showcases stunning homes along the white sands and rippling waves. The views of both the homes and gulf are so breathtaking, your jaw will drop.
